Rock Climbing

I have some friends visiting and they area sking if there is any rock climbing here in Samui. I know there used to be a climbing wall/bar between Lamai and Chaweng near the sightseeing place, but that seems to have been deserted some time ago. Does any one know of any place that is open and running?

bad timing- I just built a climbing wall but the holds aren't up yet. There's good bouldering if they catch a boat to Koh Tao, and of course very good climbing over in Krabi, but nothing really in Samui.

mustafa... are you based on Samui? any chance I could rent a harness from you? I need to climb a 30m tower and don't have anything to tie myself on with.

yeah for sure matt you can borrow it for free- although you have to be pretty slim to fit into the ones i have. if you need help with a belayer just ask. I've never received a PM before here so tell me if you send one so i know to look out for it!

mustafa, thanks for lending me the climbing gear - I haven't made the climb yet - will be doing it Saturday. We've ran out of these little connectors we need to do the install (typical) so waiting on a rush delivery from Bangkok. I'll have your gear back to you early next week. Thanks again.
