Cm - New Shares/investment Club - Any Interest?

Recommended Posts

Posted

I have just retired in CM and am interested in meeting like-minded investors of shares, indices and commodities. We could meet weekly, fortnightly or just monthly. No financial commitment necessary, just sharing of ideas in a social environment. Financial Advisors are not needed here as we will all be savvy investors and not in the market to buy, or be encouraged to buy, any financial products. Any one interested in such a social gathering in Chiang Mai?

This idea has been put forward quite a few times before, I don't think anything got off the ground.

I asked once and someone reckoned there used to be a group that faded away.

I think there's a fair bit of interest but probably difficult to get everyone together at a designated time and place.

I would be interested if you manage to get it off the ground.

I'd like to make the website, should the club form. Used to make stock/share websites for UK blue chips until company was bought by the London Stock Exchange, and also ex trader.

You can count me in too, although my travel schedule will probably only allow me to attend half your meetings.

Yes, I would be interested in investing, trading and finance in general.

Please kindly send me a message with your contact details.

Would definitely be interested, but it depends on many factors: the quality, experience and education of the members, the group's by-laws and the investing goals/strategies.

Please PM me when up and ready to go.

You missed the point, Luke. There are no investing goals and strategies. According to the OP no one will be required to put up any money. It's just a way to discuss ideas.

I think its a great idea and I would love to join in but I'm heading back to America in just 2 weeks and won't be back to CM for a while. I think I bore most of my friends when I start talking about financial markets and economics so it would be great to sit and talk shop with people that have similar interests. Good luck getting it going.

If there is no investment/gain what is the point of the "ideas". :)

Feel free to invest all you want on your own. My understanding is that this group is to share ideas for just that reason. If we are expected to commit to investing as a group, I'm not interested. I'll make my own decisions, thank you.

If you talk about football are you required to play?

It's a pretty simple concept.

Be great to have someone who understands drilling reports... :)

Oil, gas and mining thats my scene.. the stocks are always so... bubbley!

I could never fully understand the oil scene lingo. "Hydrocarbons were encountered at a depth... but ...."

Sure I could be interested. I have been looking for an informal group for some

time. The concept is good, simple, let's talk about some ideas.

Many thanks to all who have replied; each positive response will get a PM from me at some point today/tomorrow to ask for suggestions on how we might take this forward. I believe in an all inclusive informal approach. Any others who are interested to join the group please send me a PM. Regards to all.

I'd be interested if there was a financial pot rather than just chit chat

I replied to this thread awhile back and received a reply. The reply asked a few quesitons which I promptly answered and returned to Ian, the sender. That is the last I have heard. It could be that I failed to send the reply back correctly????? Anyway, Im still interested. Thanks.chiangmaillogo.png

Put me down- I been a qualified stock broker in Aussie for a few years. Having semi-retired to CMai in my 30s- although I did get hit hard in the Financial Crisis of 2008... Lost a mil or so. Now I Day Trade ASX, options trade.... looking at investing in Fountier markets like Cambodia's new market.

As the risks can be worth it, if u play them right and the risk is heavily outweighed by reward.

I only invest in a MAX of 12 companies per time, as I need to know their operations inside out.

For income I sell covered options on BHP and RIO shares to gain a few extra K pm to live on without affecting capital growth.

Looking to exit my income made in Aussie for overseas havens, as they stick me for nearly 50% on income earnt pm.

Contact me on 0817729320.... I suggest we make a group dinner at Montri @ Thapae Gate to get the ball rolling.

Say Tomorrow Dinner for those interested- 7pm? Who's in?

Cheers

Jeremy

Anyone whom leaving number I am SMSing a meet at Montri @ Thapae Gate for the CMAI Stock broking meet 7pm tomorrow. Might as well see how many show up. Should be worthwhile to meet up with like minded people making a living from trading or wishing too. Semi retired or not.

It should be a worthwhile meet, if you interested in trading. Experienced or not. You welcome to come along.

SMS me on 0817729320 if you are in.

Cheers

Jeremy
