Best Wao To Get From Ap To Pattaya

Featured Replies

Hi, What is the best way to get from Suvarnabhuni Airport to accommodation in Pattaya at 11.30 pm.

All solutions welcome.

Thank you

The least painful way is to book a private taxi online before you go. There are several companies that allow you to do this.

On March 3 this year I used "Mr T" at http://www.pttaxiservice.com/

so my experience is fairly up to date:

I went to his webpage and filled in the email fields with the essential information - My name, Flight, phone and email address, date and time of arrival, and the fact I wanted to go from the airport to Pattaya.

I got a confirmation email within hours.

When I arrived at the airport, I found the driver waiting at "Exit no. 3" carrying a sign with my name on it, as explained in the email.

If you haven't been to BKK airport before, there are a heap of exit doors, all clearly numbered. Exit 3 is also called "The Meeting Place".

The car was new and clean. The driver drove at a steady and safe speed and kept both hands on the wheel. He found my hotel with minimal directions from me. Cost was 1000 baht. I tipped 200 baht because I was so pleased with the service.

If you get a "public taxi", you'll have to queue, pay 1500 baht and get an old car in poor condition with no seat belts. The driver will be a menace to himself and everyone else on the road. He'll drive with one hand, while the other hand is on his water bottle, his mobile phone, or stuck halfway up his nose. He may need directions to get around Pattaya.

I also have had very good service from "Mr. T" both directions for a couple years now.

Yes. Very, very true.

You could take pot luck when you get there and see if you can't share a taxi to reduce the cost.

Very good advice.

Also have a note of their mobile number and give them your own mobile number in case of difficulty locating them at the exits.

Is this company new? Sounds good.

Any 'toll' charges added or implicated? I like the idea of a fixed price.

I thought 1000 baht was a bit low after all the price gouging I'd experienced from the public taxi mafia at the airport. I checked with the driver before we set off and he confirmed it was 1000 baht. He never asked for tolls.
