Has anyone managed to put a diesel in a Suzuki jeep? Googling found that the western off road clubs are using a VW 1.9 liter diesel. I doubt that the 1.9 liter VW engine is easily available here and the conversion kit would then need to be imported. I'm not interested in wheel spinning horsepower. I AM interested in the low RPM diesel torque.

I am not sure if your VW 1.9 liter diesel is the same as the 2009 model Tiguan we get in Oz but they rattle like a Massey Ferguson at idle and off idle speeds. Pretty hard to believe in this day and age....but true!
