Tv Audio/video Sync...

So I'm sitting here watch tennis on the TV.

Venus ( I think ) Williams is playing ? Bartoli.

Miss Bartoli tosses the ball into the air and whilst it is still in the air there is the sound of a raq1uet hitting a ball ??!!??

Then for the rest of the game it's the same.

Ball in the air....'thwack'......

Then I'm watching a movie and the sound starts before the actor even opens his/her mouth

and after she/he closes her/his mouth one can still hear the words !!??!!.....

This often happens in satellite broadcasts. Sometimes a broadcaster will send the audio via fiber optic link and the video via satellite. Obviously the audio going via fiber optic reaches its destination faster than the video signal going all the way up and then all the way down. The broadcaster normally introduces a delay to compensate for this, but if there are several feeds in different languages, then it is possible that they dont have delays set up for all the feeds. It is also possible for this sync phenominan to creep into local encryption and simply requires a re-boot or re-sync of the hardware.

In any case, no harm in complaining to your local broadcaster.
