I can see the logic now.

The courts have passed the buck back to Habisit.

If they Court were to issue the legal order he could claim it was the courts decision.

Now the decisions back with him should anything go wrong its only his head which will roll.

Not at all.The courts told him that he has the power to smoke them out already with ISA.

If the court had made a decision then they also had to give the reds the right of appeal. This way there is no appeal possible and abhisit is free to do as he like.

Ping pong game between Court & Mark.

The court is smart, as they need not take any responsibility anymore. TIT.

I think also this time Mark is the smart one and to smart for the reds, because they have not noticed yet, that the also lost this one.

Oops and did you read the latest newsline?

Nation: Finally getting specifics on court ruling. Court found Ratchaprasong rally to be illegal and subject to criminal charges.

I don't think the courts just passed the buck.Abhisit is the great winner here.

After the Court's ruling, demonstrating that he did not understand the Court action,

UDD leader Jatuporn Prompan told the cheering Red Shirt supporters that

It was clear that Mr Abhisit could not do everything in Thailand.

Clearly Juatuporn is incapable of understanding this ruling and it's implcations...

Where in hel_l did he get a Uni Degree from?

I think this also should be enough to lift his Parliamentary Immunity over.

He has gotten away with far too much hiding behind that mama's skirt.

Just get 'er done. Time to clear out the mercenary lawbreakers ... Let Bangkok and Thailand return to normal life and wait for the next election like a civilized country. Hopefully, the red invaders not in jail will be home in a few days so they can get back to their normal business. Thaksin's slush fund won't last forever, you know.

They said everyone must wear a green shirt tomorrow to support the army.

Can I wear huge black plastic ears to support Mickey Mouse instead?

NEWS FLASH: Takki Shinegra has now changed his name to................ :):D:D

As someone pointed out this means it cant be appealed. The court has said over to you and it is illegasl but you have authority. If the government move in the UDD cant go to court to stop them. If the government had received an injunction the UDD could have appealed and delayed action for days

annoying...don't think anymore Bangkokians give a dam_n what the red shirts want, it is inconveniencing everyone, the traffic is completely crippled (i live on sukhumvit). I think through out the last month they've killed traffic in almost every street in Bangkok. Inconveniencing all bangkokians is a bad idea in my opinion.

I live on Phaholyothin Road in Bangkok. The mobile rallies have caused minimal inconvenience on the streets here. Red shirts passing through today on their way between Chaengwattana and downtown Bangkok. Heard a couple of people shouting abuse from a condo, but still others waving and smiling at them. Certainly not all Bangkokians are anti-red.

I know of a school owner (Bangkokian) who also owns a huge chunk of land on Rachadapisek. She is hardly your stereotypical red shirt country bumpkin. You won't see her at the protest site, but she is behind the reds for sure. I am not saying this is an indication that the majority of Thais are behind the reds at the moment, but there are a proportion of people who are, who you will never see out on the streets.

A huge majority of the population is extremely fickle. They will back whoever is in charge. Army in charge? Ok, whatever. Peua Thai in control? Yeah, yeah, whatever! Democrats leading the country? OK ... whatever. Aliens from space in charge? Arai gor'dai ... whatever!

There is a reasonably large number of people, but still a minority, who do care who controls the country, either because they believe it benefits them directly or they have a genuine interest in politics. However, the majority of Thai people are more interested in their daily battle to make ends meet and don't have time to protest for any colour of shirt as they actually have to earn a living.

Politics in Thailand is so different from that in the West, that I find it amusing that people who have either lived here for a short time or have had their head buried in the sand throughout their time here, can find a way to try and compare the situation here with that in their home country. It's like chalk and cheese.

Still, without all the different opinions and outrageous claims and counter-claims, this would be an extremely boring forum. For that, I am grateful to one and all for the daily humour that is provided. :)

The tide is turning. The police aren't following orders by Abhisit to arrest protesters. The courts are declining as well.

Keep on fighting, Abhisit. For your own good, not for the good of the Thai people.

LOL .. this sounds like the old rainman! If it isn't going your way make it up! No order to the police for them to clear out the ratprasong intersection has been issued that I have seen in any of the press. Just some button pushing getting the reds to over-extend their lines and clear out some of the folks that will listen to a lawful order and obey it.

The courts aren't declining either, instead they have shown that the courts do not just rubber-stamp things like SOME people have claimed (illegally) on here for ages, while still stating that Abhisit is within his constitutional powers/law by removing the protesters.

When did the courts offer up this decision? Could it have happened at a better time for Abhisit? Nope! His obligations as Host of the Mekong conference ends and the courts give him a free hand immediately afterwards! So he was doing his duty as a PM to verify his legal power WHILE doing his duty as PM to host this function :)

Now the question is ... do they let the red mob march out into choke points and disarm them, or do they cut off all but one avenue of egress from the illegal rally site and move forces in to herd the reds to where they want them to be?

BTW -- yesterday I saw 3 busses leave from Wororot Hotel (Rak Chiang mai 51 base) full with reds -- none dressed in red!

4 hours ago I saw 3 more busses leave there this time everyone on board was in red.

If he would have smked them out right away there would have been a big fuzz from the red shirts that he overstepped his power.

Now the court has announced, and every thai has heard it,that he indeed HAS the power.

Come on you reds! If we could just get rid of Rafa we'd really go places!

If the reds here could ofload Takhsin (for a fee of course) they might qualify for the the top table.

Stick at it lads, self belief is the key to success even though the press has got it in for you.

I can't find a source where the court says it is Illegal do you have one?

I can only find a source that says Abhisit already has the power to has he wants.

Maybe he was there to offer some money in a lunchbox to help out with the decision on the Democrats' case on 20 April.

Probably a different court, but they're all buddies after all. :)

Predicton. Tomorrow the reds will prance around loads of places they arent allowed to go and pull a stunt or two and threaten to kill someone again and the government wont do anything

Would a bookie take odds on that?

Wow, good for you. Glad you've had some buses to watch today.

Anyways, going by the rate you're describing, there shouldn't be any left by tomorrow afternoon. Of course, you said 3 weeks ago that this would be over in a few days when all the reds are gone home. Looks like they stuck for nearly 3 weeks beyond your prediction ..but I guess it's good news for you that they're leaving now.

Let me know when you've got some more BS to post :)

Sure, most of the photos show a happy colourful festival. The aggressive redshirts are misleading the public by using the rent a crowd...... What would happen if the protesters were not paid, if they were driven by their own beliefs and not the idea of a paid holiday. heck they are probably unemployed anyway and this is a temporary job.

Maybe rent a crowds could be made illegal... an advance tactic on forbidding rallies... track down the coffers and grab the gold.....problem solved

Sadly I think that you are correct in your prediction, but I hope that you are not and that this lunacy is brought to and end, without bloodshed.

Cheers, Rick

I think there has been a misunderstanding among the public at large. The reds are simply travelling around the city practicing for Songkran.

Come on Abhisit ... declare an extra 3 days from 7-9 April as a public holiday. You know it makes sense. :)

Why? He got time to be compassionate in the eyes of the country AND he got a court to rule on the legality of the Ratprasong rally! He also cut off almost any likleyhood of ANY court injoining him from clearing the rally site. The Reds now know that a court has ruled the rally illegal and will have no real defense when arrested.

Sounds like a traffic report for the days of Songkran...

Maybe they should 'rentaghost' ... I think that would scare about 90% of them away.

Rainman, JD is in Chiang Mai. He was indicating that Red shirts were heading to BKK not in red shirts, possibly for nefarious purposes. you are really not the brightest brass button on the monkey suit, are you.

Nefarious means "not good"

I am quite disappointed that the rented crowds have on the whole been a bit wrinkly and not exactly your typical Bangkok Motor Show pretty. I'm sure I have heard tales of 5,000 baht per day banded around.

Did I say that? Of course they actually DID go home .. the estimates of 16,000 watching from the rally site last monday during the discussions between the Red leadership and the Government must have escaped you :D

I know you are hurt that you can no longer make your public claims about the courts though, so I forgive your forgetfulness :D
