Okay, as you don't say where you are in thailand but allude to protests, I'll just take a wild guess and think you mean Bangko Immigrations.

A friend of mine just got back and said there were NO protestors out at Changwattana, nor was it fraught with peril traveling around the area from Chatuchak to Changwattana.

He did say there were quite long queues today for almost every service.

I was there (last month) and at that time the photo/fingerprint scanners weren't up and running yet. They were on the Immigrations Officer's desks, so they probably are either running now or soon will be.

At the bottom of the extension of stay form it says in english, "Application muse be made in person"

You will need a 4x6cm picture glued to the T.M-7 application for extension of stay form, as well as the various and sundry copies and proper documentation.

There are companies which will assist you, look at some of the T/V Forum Sponsors like Sunbelt Asia

You have to go in person unless you have a certified medical reason for not being able to do so. This is complicated and requires the co-operation of the hospital / doctors treating you.
