Veera warns of consequences if arrested

BANGKOK: -- Red-shirt leader Veera Musigapong on Friday warns about consequences if police will arrest him and other leaders.

"If police arrest red-shirt leaders, then I am certain the people will not go home to celebrate Songkran," he said, hinting at protests to escalate.

In two batches of warrants issued, police are preparing to round up seven red-shirt leaders for involving the raid of Parliament and the other 17 leaders for involving in the Rajprasong rally.

ok, arrest who they can and helicopter them out to a remote naval controlled island offshore

tell their red comrades where they are and tell them to go get them or give them some bread and water and tell them they can swim for it, if they want .........

That's a lot of water wings for Toxin to buy. :)

just got a call saying tanks were in the central world area, any one confirm that

good, i hope its true

use them to flatten the stage & the vehicles blocking the area whilst the main body of reds are playing ''we want our TV station back'' elsewhere

Just phoned a friend who is in the office tower there and can see what's happening on the street. Nothing going on and not many reds.

From what I just saw at Thaicom, if we do see tanks, the will likely be flying red flags to match the red epaulets that the deserting troops are wearing up at Thaicom.

The crowd at Thaicom is about 2500 as previously estimated.

The tanks were supposedly seen near world trade center.

Guns and tanks will be flagged white to show they're sharp. Red was never the colour.

It really does look as though the police and army have no will to resist or control the Reds. Now, the question is, how will the Reds use the ability take over any building to take over the country?

When the Reds walk into the army base on Vipawadi, we will know that they have won.

It's been clear for some time that the Army wants everyone to busy themselves arguing who is the bad guy, yellow or red? While everyone is arguing, they feast as they've been for decades.

Its hard to argue with that.

Its safe to say that whoever wins this current little war, the result will not be something liberal westerners are going to like very much.

As I've already said guys, no side seems to be able to control the army, and the police are useless. That makes Thailand ungovernable. If Abhisit can't get this under control it's bad not just for the yellows but for the reds as well. Do they honestly think that they can get the army under control?

Abhisit getting this under control? You've got to be kidding. It's 4:20pm, Abhisit is just getting up from his afternoon nap. The army nannies are administering warm cookies and milk, as they give him the script they want him to read on TV this evening.

The real question, is which side will the army support? It doesn't seem to be really clear. They may just let the Reds take over to avoid bloodshed.

Speak to many Thais who are not worried about speaking about the unmentionable event that is likely to happen in the coming year and you will know well why everyone is battling for power at the moment and why certain people in the army and police are unwilling to act and have blood on their hands when there are rich pickings to be had around the corner.

Battle for the people? Battle for democracy?

It's quite simply a load of crap to deflect away from the real truth behind the jostling for power.

Reds and yellow, democrats and others ... it's all about greed.

Anyone who has any sympathy for either side is missing the bigger picture. This is the reason we should all be sitting on the fence and not making stupid comments about which side is right. Let them battle it out, kill each other and complain about it later. All self inflicted.

I'm watching TV. Reds throwing rocks at police and buses. Peaceful Red demonstration? and looking at the cars parked on the roads to Thaicom... And considering the Emergency Decree order that allows them to destroy vehicles that are participating in violent acts against private property or state property (add lib :) ) I'd say smash them :D

Good post. But some posters have spent years and many thousands of posts defending the moral integrity of the yellows and they aren't going to evolve their thinking now or ever. It's not just the paid posters, some are genuine in their mono-dimensional thought.

I know ... they should be up on the stage too. More comic relief :)
