Hello,

I'm planning to go to the BKK Immigration Chaengwattana Govt centre next week April 12-16 2010. Then again, next week is Songkran.

Will this office be closed all week or only a few days?

I called the office (1178) but could not reach anyone.

Feedback from long timers expats appreciated.

Thanks!

Ryle

Don't think it did close. It should be open tomorrow and Monday, then closed Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for sure, Possibly Friday too but I'm not sure.

"I believe the Red Shirts might have forced it to close down for a couple of days."

I was there today and it was business as usual. The red shirts weren't there, so you can breath easy.

I was able to talk to a government clerk on the phone.

Next week, the Immigration Office will be opened on Monday 12th April 2010. It will be closed for the remaining of the week.

Happy Songkran!

I can tell you I have an appointment with Immigration tomorrow (Monday). Absent more red shirt protests at the Election Committee which is in the same building I assume they will also open on Friday, since only Tue, Wed and Thur are government holidays. Watch news sites for any red shirt related closures or sudden extension of the holiday, as happened last Songkran.

I think govt offices are also closed on Friday.

Immigration office is open today. First time there and the whole 90 Day process took about 35 minutes. Driving wasn't a problem today but I can imagine it being a pain on a regular work day. Cannot miss it, they have a big banner that says "Government Offices". At least they have parking at this place.
