but in the end Thailand will get the government and politics they deserve.

Yes, I agree with your post, but had to shorten it for brevity. UDD and DAAD and Puay Thai and all the other puppets controlled (and paid) by Thaksin are busily trying to confuse the issues, and being successful.

With all the theories spinning around, it's easy for the average observer to throw up his/her hands and say, "I don't know what's real anymore, but you're all at fault!"

However, some objective in-depth observation will show that there were some heavily armed insurgents mingling with the Reds on Saturday night when the shit hit the fan - and they were glad to finally be allowed to let loose. The 2nd infantry/battalion who were specifically targeted, and subsequently had a grenade launched in their midst which killed the colonel, was not coincidence. They were targetted because they were the main security force which quelled the Red shirt mayhem from Songkran 2009 within Bkk.

I hope they identify the perpetrators and, if found guilty in court, severely punish them. Yet I know enough about Thailand to know that won't happen - for myriad reasons. One of the many reasons that won't happen: Thai investigative prowess is poor.

Here is something from Thanong in his blog for The Nation:

"Later on Maj Gen Noppadon Inthapanya, a secretary to Gen Prawit Wongsuwan, the defence minister, came out to deny that he leaked secret information related the military operation to the Red Shirts. This followed rumours that a person close to the defence minister was responsible for this"

Someone was leaking information to Jatuporn as he was mocking Abhisit for having "tears welling" when meting with Anupong and others after the raid on PTV Sat station.

Is it possible that the same party was leaking information to both Daeng and Jatuporn and if it is, is there any degree of culpability on Jatuporn's part for the carnage on Saturday night? Just asking.

red guards with automatic weapons

Yes.. Red guards with several seized army issue automatic weapons with the ammo clips removed. Do you have the link too?

Blame the source.

If it is true that the RED used seized weapons against the army, I will not blame the RED. You have to blame the guy who brought it in, in the 1st place.

For example:

2 drunks were having a fist fight. A decided to break a bottle and use it against B. B being the quicker one (less drunk possibily) twist A's arms so the the sharp broken bottle hurt A. So is B wrong in hurting A? If A did not introduce the weapon none of this could have happen. Just my thought.

If one considers that a third hand likely is Thai, having a vested interest in the outcome,

and military trained, then these weapons don't need to have been seized at the riot,

but brought to the riot, and logically just blending in after the chaos starts.

All it takes is ONE good sniper on a roof to set this off, you don't need dozens.

Ginning up variations of the NYTimes photo to prove it could be ginned up,

is pretty desperate backtracking.

^chantorn - you know govts do lie, it is their nature. :D Take credit when things go right and try to cover-up when things go wrong (CYA).

I was just being playful. I was just kidding :D In Thai we call it "Pla chot" which mean intentionally saying the reverse.

Who would trust the SOB Suthep.

However Mark is different. He is very creditable, to me at least. And handsome too. I know he won't last very long now, which is a pity. But rules are rules, and most likely Democrates will be dissolved soon.

:)

The dudes on this farang board only understand jokes when it comes with a BOIIING sound. :D

Folks , about the man in black , he has already been identified , there are photos of him in a temple and also more detail about the weapons he and the other guy behind him were carrying as well as picture of others with AK47's and the Israeli guns. Look on Nation Tweet sites for links.

its interesting reading over on the other paper we cannot quote on here

headed ''Slain camerman may have caught 'third hand' killers''

google it

the intimation seems to be that the cameraman may have been shot by the men in black

Though it's *all* speculation, I assumed the Japanese cameraman must have been targeted.

More speculation (admittedly far out). I have been wondering who would have taken the picture published at the top of the page? If you look at the shadow of the gun barrel on the other guy's red shirt, it is well below the gun barrel, meaning the picture was taken at very close range, probably by an expensive camera with a separate flash attachment.

How is the guy who took the picture still alive, if the picture is what it is insinuated to be?

Where is the Japanese cameraman's camera?

Questions or trying to connect the dots, nothing more.

The first dot you can connect is that there is no shadow at all on the red shirt. It is a vow of the shirt or maybe something hidden under the shirt.

Have a closer look.

Have to say that this guy does not look Thai?

Cheers, Rick

What a joke :)

Someone using some dubious photos to scam the Red shirts ???

We can see for the first man in the black carry a M16 or Carbine with a Silencer Attached ! That means he's firing Blanks !

If you want to scam someone pls do your homework first :D

Your off the mark a fair way! I think the picture of the arab guy in the black balaclava maybe a different situation unrelated to Saturdays events. Maybe I am wrong about that, but it seems weird an arab would be involved!

For sniping duties, no-one is going to be using a standard assault rifle.....unless your target is the side of a barn!

Were is Mr.T???

What the hel_l are you talking about??

That is a M16A2 rifle (circa mid-1980s) with a long (Albeit Rusty) Barrel attached total Barrel length of 508 mm

It is most defiantly not a Colt M4 and M4A1 carbine assault rifle witch has a much shorter Barrel length of 370 mm

It has no Silencer attached at all

And tell me where installing a silencer automatically says your firing blanks?

Isent the whole point of Firing blanks to have the noise and not the projectile?? so installing a Silencer onto a gun and firing blanks would be totally pointless..... Although I do believe those Idiot monkeys in black running around that day would have no clue in any case.....

Do your homework before trying to make out you know what your talking about "multistar28"

Perhaps you should go back to the air-soft range with your friends...

I emailed this pic to a friend whose job it used to be to know all about these kind of things. Here's his reply.

"Hi...How are you doing? I'm doing well. The M-16 is an M-16A2 and the other is a Bulldog L85A1 or the SA80 I can't see if it has the SUSAT. The guy in the back is carrying two of them, one in his hand and the other on a sling. I can't see the pistol well enough to see what it is."

The M16 is deffro an A1 instead of an A2. I slept, bathed and train with it for a few years. I can recognise it from a mile away. Cheers

And it is still a pice of junk compared with the Heckler & Coch G3 :):D:D

The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is it's natural manure.THOMAS JEFFERSON, letter to William Stephens Smith, November 13, 1787.

But not your blood of course.

Mr Blah Blah

There is always your blood. :)

Then again Jefferson's slaves might have quoted Samuel Johnson... "Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel."

This post is sooooo far off topic!

Me thinks you've got no idea what you are talking about.

1) What silencer?

2) How does a silencer "mean he's firing Blanks"?

I agree.

I do not see a blank firing attachment on the rifle, and a silencer is not for firing blanks anyway.

But has to be better than the Steyr which was ( ? is ) issued to Australian and NZ forces. That has my vote for the "most useless piece of junk masquerading as a military weapon" award.

You reds always seem to get your facts wrong ! lack of education i presume?

The "M16" in the photo does not carry a silencer... the bit on the end of the barrel is the anti recoil vent, it is standard on all M16's

There would be no way of telling if there were blanks or live ammo loaded until he kills someone.

In actual fact it is called a flash eliminator and it is for that purpose only. To eliminate the flash.

Correct, though we called it a flash suppressor.

How does a green laser spotter suggest that it was the military shooting the military? Lasers are not the exclusive domain of the military . There are a few other vids that show laser spots and they are definitely being pointed from the Red positions.

I think I know what you are implying and it's that someone knew he was there, and that someone would have to have had current information regarding his location. So yes, it's possible that there are competing military factions or a single military faction trying to escalate the situation so that Marshal law can be imposed, or set the stage for a coup. Then again, maybe it was someone out for revenge or a militant red shirt sect with military knowledge or maybe just a lucky shot?

The idea that some in the military are totally against the current heads of military is quite logical.

We know Thaksin was salting the deck with his own partisans at the time his plug was pulled.

And no doubt that contributed to his 'Expired Caretaker PM' plug getting yanked.

So if we assume Sea Daeng is not the only disgruntled army type out there, and they're under a puayai,

not in the food chain of advancement at the moment, yes it make sense they would use their access to

armament to change the balance of power in a situation in flux.

Pushing out the head of army and his anointed successor could likely be high priority for those expecting more time out of the loop.

Add to that, they revenge motive for Last Songkran's red humiliation...

yes, these shadowy hands likely were cause of most of this carnage....

but not all. Red leaders on stage still manipulated their sheeple into

setting up the killing field over weeks of intense effort to make this scene happen.

No loss of culpability there.

Nice find its what I thought, when I saw the youtube when they were dancing to the army music next minute fighting thought it was strange and then thought there must have been a third hand.

We must remember that 5 soldiers were killed with several hundred soldiers injured, nearly 100 of them very seriously injured. Field officers were targeted for assassination. These were trained soldiers, wearing full combat gear, armed, traveling in APCs and on foot. This level of injury does not come from a mob of red shirts wielding molotov cocktails, bricks, and water bottles. These soldiers were taken out with military rifles and grenades, with some casualties from sharpened bamboo sticks, poles, and other blunt objects.

If you read the conscript's account (found on Bangkok Pundit twitter) it would seem that they weren't 'trained' soldiers but novices. Didn't even know where they were going. The account is un-sourced and claimed to be a transcript from a telephone call from soldier to his parents. No idea how such a smooth transcript was made or obtained. It's more articulate than any phone call I've every made to anyone.

Prachathai run a soldier story. It is in Thai and may be blacked again soon.

I will not 100% believe everthing this web say too; else ICT will not block them from time to time, sometime all the time.

are you saying that you believe that ICT blocks only information that is untrue? Ok.. dont answer that. :):D:D
