Tourist Visa Extension

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a 60 day tourist visa which will expire on 4/25. Does anyone know how soon I can go to the immigration office to extend the visa? Do I need to do it at the Bangkok office or can I extend it in Chiang Mai? Also, how many times or for how long can I extend the visa? I've read it can be extended twice for 30 days each time. Is this true?

One time, 30 days, 1,900 baht, any Immigration office at where you are located. Monday likely to be very busy but I would start trying then. You could have done a week or two ago and avoided the rush but that too late for you.

You might obtain an additional 7 days under review/disapproved extension at the end of the 30 day extension but an airline ticket out might be required.

The 30 days extension can be made anytime before the current stay expires without "loosing" any days, and do not forget to bring a passport size photo.
