Thai Post Office

Featured Replies

Just a rant about the usual inefficiency of the Thai Post Office.

Letter posted and date stamped in the UK on 31st March.

Date stamped 7th April at Banglamung – it takes a week to fly here ??

Delivered today (21st) – 2 weeks from the local Post Office.

Conclusion : another pathetic Government department

Feel better now …………………… :)

Does the words volcano/red shirts/ inefficiency mean anything?

air mail letter ?

try registration the next time

Can't see what the fuss is about. I've found them to be pretty good in general, and probably better than The Royal Mail back in The UK, which has gone to the dogs.

Post office is closed throughout Songkran (i think they were closed from 9th April and only reopened on 19th)... So that's why it took from 7th to 21st to deliver. Might help to get a Thai calendar...all government departments are closed for this public holiday.

As for the time it took to arrive from the UK to Thailand that can hardly be blamed on the Thai post office can it..?

I had a registered letter sent to me on April 8th in the UK, it arrived on Monday the 18th of April, apparently it normally takes one week but Songkran delayed it's arrival.
