Hi all,

I have a Non Imm B visa at the moment which is my second 3 months non imm B from Laos without having applied for a work permit. I really HAVE to stay in Thailand and am worried about my next visa and getting stranded in Laos.

I can just apply for a double entry tourist visa, anyone think there will be any problem with that bearing in mind I just had two non imm B visas?

If not I have read I can get an Non Imm O visa on the basis of "Visiting friends"? I have a Thai girlfriend who is more than happy to provide any signatures, passport/ID copies etc that she needs to. Is the basis that I am visiting her for whatever reason good enough to get a Non Imm O (which I believe can get you a total of 15 months in Thailand after the 12 month extension).

If anyone has any idea and details on how to the process works and how much it will cost, please do tell I would really appreciate it.

Thanks

1. Visiting friends would not work closer than Perth - never happen in Laos.

2. Are you eligible for visa exempt entry to Thailand? If you are you can always return for 15 days even if visa refused.

3. There should not be any issue with getting a tourist visa after a non immigrant entry - people do it all the time.

Hi, thanks for taking the time to reply.

I am a British Citizen so am visa extempt as far as I know, that is very good to know thank you.

Thanks for the reassurance, 15 days is enough time to try and figure something out!

Does anyone think it is of any major benefit for me to go with an Agency (as I have done before) other than I don't have to wait at the embassy for any length of time or do they grease palms actually affecting the positive outcome of an issued visa

I don't believe they do anything but provide transport/housing for Laos trips. People have no problem doing themselves as it is a major transport route to Vientiane from Nong Khai and Udon.
