Just Installed Windows 7, And The Entire Chrome Menu Is In Thai

Featured Replies

Ok Im going nuts here. All my internet web browser menus are in Thai, I obviously can't read a word of it so I have no clue how to change this to English. Just upgraded to windows 7 today.

If someone could respond with specific instructions on how to change this to English, (which menu to click, which one to select, etc) I would greatly appreciate it.

Txs in advance.

Suggest you check the System Locale.

Control Panel -> Region & language Select -> Administrative -> Change System Locale If set to Thailand then set to an English language location

I really expected that to work but it didnt.

Not sure why this is happening, I changed everything, location, system locale, and the toolbar on my internet explorer, chrome, and firefox are all displayed in Thai.

Can someone help me to change this? This is driving me nuts!

I suggest that you uninstall all the browsers. Set the location and language you want, then reinstall. I doubt that you can change the language it is set to already withou reinstalling.

Can you tell me how to set the language before I reinstall them?

Txs.

Click on the spanner icon, then click the menu on the 11th line (just above the line where you can see Google Chrome written in English).

Then go to the third (last) tab, then scroll down. See the Gears button? Click the button which is just above. Go to the second (last) tab, and choose "English..." from the last pull down menu. Click the OK buttons (in Thai it says ตกลง), then close all windows and restart Chrome.

Web browser download for US English.

Mozilla Firefox

Google Chrome

I clicked your Google Chrome link and next to the percentage downloaded bar and underneath it is clearly in Thai.

AAARGGGHHHHH!

This should not be this difficult...

where is the spanner icon?

Do these instructions include any re-installation?

Txs for your help. I think you are my best hope.

I don't think you need to reinstall, you can probably just switch from Thai to English.

The spanner (wrench) icon should be on the upper right corner, just below the X that closes the browser. Click on it and a pull down menu should appear.

God bless you

Do you know how to do that for firefox as well?

^ There's no such setting in Firefox.

Uninstall the existing (Thai) version first, then download and install the US English version (link provided in my previous post).

I'm glad it works.

As far as I know FFx works differently, you can't change the language of the interface like you can do with Chrome (unless you have a special add-on to do that). So my advice would be to uninstall your Thai version and download an English version (see the link given by Supernova).

Chrome is set to use the default location Language, you need to change your location to the UK or US & the Format to eithier of the same, reload chrome if it is set to default language then it should now be in English in the settings menu under the spanner (top right, next to the address bar) go to Options click under the bonnet or under the hood depending on whether you selected UK or US English in Windows scroll down to change font and language settings click the language tab, type English, and click OK, you can if you wish then change the setting in windows back to Thailand if you wish and Chrome should stay in English.

Just download all programs you'd like to have in English, set your country. Change your country using Control panel to

America or England. It's really very easy takes some time, but you might learn a lot as well.
