The topic says it all really, are there still lots of people stranded in Thailand waiting for return flights due to the fallout over the Icelandic volcano ?

I rebooked my flight pretty quickly and it doesn't leave until May 18th, I've heard various stories from people in England where employees haven't returned from their holidays yet.

Certainly not on Thai International.

Last two flights left with many empty seats to UK including lunchtime Saturday flight.

I have a neighbour who should have gone back ages ago. He has a new flight booked for tomorrow.n According to the BBC today there are still many Brits in Thailand waiting to get back. Not just Thailand though, many other countries.

I wad supposed to leave April 18th and re-booked my flight for May 9th.

Etihad offered me earlier departure, but I am not in a hurry to reach Belgium for my annual two weeks spring break. :)

P.S.: a friend had to buy a new ticket because Jet Airways was not able to find him a seat before the end of May!

Hoe do you know this ? A friend of mine who was flying with Thai was told the first flight he could get would be May 2nd, this was the day his flight was cancelled.

He had some work to do this week so instead of waiting and flying to London on the 2nd of May he flew to Madrid earlier this week and then onto London at and extra cost of just over 200 Euro for an easyjet flight from Madrid - Gatwick.

It would appear that Thai have been less than truthful in their rebooking policies and have held some seats back at expense to their customers. I suspected this was happening.

Daughter works for an airline reservations in UK.

She can get into virtually all reservation systems and flight loads.Last nights TG had 27 seats in all classes upon leaving and lunchtime today left with 26 in economy (she didnt have figures for J/F)

I was due to fly with Thai on April 21st and eventually left on the flight I'd been promised on 28th. It was full. A day or two before I left I was talking to another chap who had also been due to go on 21st, had opted for the waiting list rather than earliest confirmed flight and still didn't have a date. He claimed to know a couple of others with dates in early May.
