according to my calendar it says tomorrow 3rd May 2010 (Mon) Labor Day (Substitution) , that's why i am asking.

Highly unlikely. Substitution days are Public Holidays to Civil Servants.

Try to look at a Thai Calender, that should confirm it. Oh you have done!

The Vientienne Embassy website lists it as a Lao holiday . Not a Thai one. So it could well be open.

It's closed Wednesday though.

To the OP, your calendar is correct:

it's a bank holiday tomorrow Monday (so government administrative offices should follow) ... and Coronation day is on Wednesday, 5th.

Now, the question is: "Will they work on Tuesday?"
