Crime Gunman Opens Fire at Festival in Nakhon Si Thammarat — One Dead, Eight Injured
Picture courtesy of Khoasod A night of celebration turned into chaos at a festival , when a gunman opened fire, leaving one person dead and at least eight others injured. The shooting occurred after midnight during the closing night of the “Kam Lon Festival @ Kiriwong” in Lan Saka district, Nakhon Si Thammarat province. The incident took place at around 01:20 on 30 July, shortly after a performance by southern Thai singer Baw Vee, the final act of the five-day event held near Kiriwong Bridge in the Kam Lon community. As crowds were dispersing after the concert, multiple gunshots were heard, prompting terrified festivalgoers to flee in panic. According to initial reports, one person was killed and eight others were injured in the attack. Police captured the alleged gunman, identified as Ek Wang Sai. Authorities revealed that Ek had a personal grudge against a man known as “Lawyer Ong”, whom he encountered at the festival. The lawyer had previously represented a legal rival of Ek’s, a case that reportedly led to Ek serving time in prison. The suspect reportedly assaulted the lawyer and then opened fire, severely injuring him. A bystander who attempted to intervene was also shot and died from his injuries. Lawyer Ong remains in critical condition and has been transferred to Maharaj Nakhon Si Thammarat Hospital for emergency treatment. Police officers at the scene managed to shoot and subdue the suspect before further harm could be done. An investigation is now underway, with authorities how the suspect managed to bring a firearm into the festival grounds. The “Kam Lon Festival @ Kiriwong” was in its third year and is a popular event in the region, drawing large crowds of locals and tourists. This year’s event, held from 25 to 29 July, had concluded without incident until the shooting on the final night. Authorities have vowed to tighten security at future public events and are calling for calm as they continue their investigation. Adapted by Asean Now from Khoasod 2025-07-30 -

Is Trump actually doing a better job than you expected?
Everything @hotsun posted was correct. Just because you disagree doesn’t make him wrong. The term “Democratic Plantation” is called that for a reason. 90% of homeless, welfare recipients, section 8, illegal aliens, minorities, the lazy, and the poor vote Democrat for a reason. The free benefits they provide in exchange for votes and representation. Nothing to do with Trump . Been like this for generations. Common sense. Sorry to disappoint but there isn’t a LINK to everything in life. But here is a few. -

Middle East UK to Recognise Palestinian State if Gaza Ceasefire Not Reached
If Hamas does not return the hostages then there will be no ceasefire. If there is a ceasefire then virtue signalling morons like Starmer will not recognize Palestine as a state so agreeing to a ceasefire is not in the interests of the terrorists. Starmer did not make returning the hostages a condition of recognizing Palestine as a state, the only conditions are on Israel. So in September (unless he does yet another u turn which of course he will as he is a weak visionless moron and that is what those types do) then Hamas will be governing the terrorist state of Palestine with their stated intention of killing every single Jew in Israel. -

Expat Discontent in Thailand
I know the OP put some effort into this, but I believe the OP is writing from the perspective of a western, white older male. The majority of expats now are Asian, Arab and Indian. They have a different perspective on the things that drive westerners mad. I don't think they get as worked up over the bureaucracy or the corruption as westerners do. -
