Universal Power Pack For Laptop

Featured Replies

hi

i live krabi have to come phuket for two days tommorow, computer power adapter packed up about 2 months ago anyone know where i can pick up some sort of universal adaptor in phuket i dont think i will be able to get an original as its about a 4 year old samsung laptop from england, any help be appreciated thanks....

It might be simplest if you take note of the output voltage (providing the input is 220-240vac you'll not break any virtual circuitry heart in LoS) and then take both the PC and the broken adaptor (to easily visualise the connector type from the male end) to any little computer stall you can find, if not a fancy computer shop.

I bought one in Big C for 600baht and got it home the thing started popping from inside indicating it had a poor circuitry connection.

I took it back and informed that it had a 7 day warranty and it was the last one they had.

Should it take 4 more days for a new one to arrive i was told that i had only 3 days warranty for the replacement.

Went to the tourist police but not much interest there finally went to the big boss in a store near by and he said no sweat here is your refund much to the annoyance of the store staff.

Basically if you go buy one from somewhere then do not leave it on while you are elsewhere they are very cheap pieces of junk.

The same deal in Hatyai 600baht and 7 day warranty.

They are made in china.

You went to the tourist police over a 600 Baht Chinese transformer? I am confused as you said you bought it in Big 'C' but finally went to the 'big boss' in a store nearby who gave you a refund!! I guess you get what you pay for i.e. "pay peanuts and you get monkeys". :)

I have an expensive Toshiba laptop that I brought from England. No way would I trust a cheap 600 Bt adaptor. I would buy an original.

Jungceylon, third floor sells a universal with plenty of different plugs and different voltage output chosen with a switch. like 600 baht, and I have measured the output wich is stabel and correct thus not hurting the laptop battery.

and I bet your original powersupply is made in China too :)
