Latest Update From Bangkok Locals

Hi people,

My wife and 2 young children and I are due to come to Bangkok 19th June for 4 nights but I've been holding off booking any Hotels till the trouble eases. From all accounts I read it seems like things have calmed significantly in recent weeks.

Just wanted to ask the local Bangkok expat people if its a reasonable safe bet to book now and free from serious issues. We were planning to stay in the Silom area.

(People living in Bangkok need reply only, I just want some reliable info, not a political debate)

I work and live in the Silom area and it is business as usual here. Had a weekend walking street market on Silom Road Friday and Saturday. Huge success and 1000's of people turned up and had fun. Bring your family and enjoy some nice Thai company. You will get some good bargins as things are cheaper at the moment.
