The headline seems to be written by someone unwilling to adjudicate any responsibility or liability to the drug-abusing Thai mother or The Royal Thai Police. In any Farang country the Police would have placed the baby in a Child Protection Service Program. Why the Police did not do that? Why the headline does not ask the same question?

It was drafted with the apparent intent of vilifying the Farang who left the baby in a hospital where it would receive good qualified care, so we hope. The intent of the headline appears to incriminate the Farang.

Does this follow the same litany "Thai good, Farang bad"?

The article and headline diminish the reputation, not only of the so called "journalist", but also of the newspaper that published it.

It should read: "Thai bar girl on drugs abandons her 8 month child while being incarcerated, a 60 year old Australian while on Holiday, whom she hardly knew, had the compassion to return the child to Thai Authorities via the local hospital"

He did the smartest and most decent things to be done ...

a.) He got the heck away from that situation as fast as possible ... phew!!!

b.) He had the greatest of decency to personally take the baby to the safest and best possible place

before disappearing.

BIG respect to Mr Ron :)

I'm assuming Ron was not the babies father and just a decent bloke

(to all you racialist pigs - kindly note that I am a Brit patting an Aussie on the back)

yes big respect to the man banging and ostensibly funnding the drug addled whore.

His actions and judgement seem to be lacking across the board. his response was cowardly though he did at least make a small attempt to ensure the child would be ok.

there had to have been better options than sneaking into a hospital and hoping the child was discovered on time.

one still wonders if the child was his.

reading through the responses here, i suspect many who think Mr 60's actions were honorable (whatever the circumstances) have likely never had had children.

people who believe their actions are justified take action in daylight, not in the middle of the night.

You seem to under estimate the danger of going to the police, I,m amazed at your faith in them, The risk is,nt the paperwork involved although not being able to read thai even that could be a real trap,

I doubt the police would have much interest in the welfare of the baby but rather a great interest in how much money they could make out of the situation this guy was in, To my mind going to the police would have been inviting them to empty his bank account,

Would you consider going to the local mafia with such a problem?

Have you ever actually been in a Thai police station? I think it would be good therapy for you.

Many times,

Was completely unaware therapy was on the list of the services they offered, How was it?

Looks like just one more stupid story between the "boyfriend" (farang who might be a grandfather to Thai woman) and a prostitute who found a golden spoon in grandpa b/f, to support her family all.

She is proud to have a farang b/f and he is proud to be with so young woman whom might be his grandchild.

Perfect couple, match.

He is not a father, ashy he is not able to have a baby in that his age and i would like to know he tried to save the baby that way or to get rid of that baby as she(mother) tried to show him as a father.

Any "relationship" with so huge difference in age makes me so sick.

He is to old guy, she is too young and she is drug addicted. Lovelly couple they are.

:)

Posts like yours make others sick. It wasn't about older foreigners having a relationship, even a paid one, with a prostitute. It's about blaming this older man for something which was alright. Understood???

Obviously you misunderstood.

My point was that nothing else could be expected from such nice couple, such relationship.

He is stupid to involve with such a woman and she is bad as she is greedy and as always, kids will pay the price in Thailand because of these kind of "mother" and "father".

Get that now sirichai?

I'm sometimes worn out just from keeping an eye on my kids at 35... even with two nannies (no jokes please), with both me and my wife not working 9-5.

Can't imagine doing the same at 60 and with a drug addict mother!

:)

One eye on your kids, what do you keep your other eye on? Oh...never mind...

The more I read Thaivisa forum, the more I wonder why is that non-Thai men can come into Thailand and have

relationship with young Thai girls so easily, why Thai girls are so easy, prostitution?? or just for financial gain??.

I realized that money is everything, as long as there is large poor Thai population, those girls have to take advantage of the situation.

I am certain that such situation is not possible in the US.

Thailand is now known as the sex capital of the world, very sad.

Also the Red Shirt situation will never happened and of course big corruption among Thai official is also sad.

Just rambling...

Your First Question:

  1. Could be the husband or boyfriend sends them after farang pockets
  2. Could be the family sends them after farang pockets
  3. Could be they need a break from being abused or taken for granted
  4. Could be voluntary prostitution, or working off a family debt
  5. Could be they'd rather be a mature man's princess than a young man's slave
  6. Could be they are attracted....scratch that, not reality.

Your second comment:

  1. Where in the US are you certain about?
  2. Rural America may conform to your belief.
  3. It would appear that you have led a sheltered life, which can be a beautiful thing.
