In Bangkok, I know of three excellent specialist book shops that sell a very wide range of teaching material, particularly TEFL-related books and CD's. If you're teaching in BKK and haven't visited any of them, you may be missing out.

They are DK Books, Makkasan branch, Chulalongkorn University bookstore (2 branches at least) & the other one in Meuang Thong Thani.

What equivalent is there in the Pattaya or Chonburi area?

Don't know about Pattaya or Chonburi but here in Chiang Mai we also have a DK Books and also a Suriwong Book Centre.
