Hello

I am applying for a U.S green card and I am hoping to get my wife one also.

My wife is Thai. She has a national thai ID card, a masters degree from a top US university and Thai passport etc.

Unfortunately, she has no birth certificate here ( In Canada) and has been unable to get her family to send one over.

She has become estranged from her family , over the years.

Does anyone have any advice that could help us ?

Either how to get a Thai birth certificate or if we need one, for a green card, with the other material we have

thanks a lot. Any tips would be much appreciated.

I'm not sure if they'd do that. There are offices where I still see the staff writing by hand in huge ledgers... They may want to see some copy of a tambien ban or something else in order to issue a birth certificate. The fact that she's out of the country will probably not help.

A family member probably still has her birth certificate. I'd try this option again and again if anything else fails with the consulate.

Good luck! :o
