Ip Address Location

Featured Replies

I was recently maliciously hacked, including mass deletions of important emails, changing and manipulation of photos and data, and insertion of secret email address to forward copies of all my incoming emails to the perpetrator. Luckily one of the websites hacked was very helpful, and I was able to obtain the IP Address of the offending computer, plus the exact time of the hacking, and all this was included in my report to the Pattaya Police. The internet server (3BB, Maxnet, TT&T, whatever they call themselves) has the required information, but for some reason are reluctant to give me the name and the actual address of this person, even though I am also a customer of their,s and have shown them the Police Report. Does anyone out there know an effective method or procedure for obtaining the actual street address of a computer that has comitted a serious crime ?

That will probalby take a court order, for which you need a lawyer.

Bugga! Have you considered the Tea-money route?

I bet it feels like a burglary. :annoyed:

If you want his/her address in order to take legal action (or just open up a 55 gallon can of whoop ass) against him, got get a lawyer "now" and start the legal process now. Even Thailand has some privacy laws, although very weak ones, so you are probably not going to get any useful info from the ISP without court involvement.

Most likely the bad guys are not in Thailand...

You can Google " who is " there are many, just type in the IP address and it will give you the site information, owner, address, e mail.

So what was hacked? Your computer at home or a server running your website and mail?

And to which ISP is the originating IP assigned?

I assume it's in Thailand?

ISPs are by law required to keep a log of all traffic during at least 90 days. These logs can only be retrieved by a small number of people working for the government cybercrime unit. The ISP would break that same law if they handed the data over to you.

So, as said before: court case.
