LE TOUR DE FRANCE 2010 ---- 80th Anniversary

Le Tour de France is already in it's 3rd day.

Yesterday there was a massive crash of more than 70 riders with many injuries and broken bones....:(

Everything about the Tour:

It really pee's me off that TRUE don't seem to be covering TDF at all this year.

Relying on an at best a sluggish internet connection here in the village to stay in touch via some dodgy live video feeds is irritating at times.

And yes, yesterdays stage was a near classic. Just wish the riders had raced all the way to the finish.

You're either 17 or 27 years behind the times. this is the 97th Edition of the TdF and the 107th Anniversary of the first one. It's all on your link above!

Mea Culpa...you're right and that was quite dumb of me since I didn't "think" when I wrote the title....

I just copied (without thinking) and noticed this: "80th anniversary of the Publicity Caravan,....." :(

Sorry!

I will ask the mods to change the topic title.

Thank you for noticing it in time.

I watch it at O'reilly's on Silom - but it means endless bloody pints of lager which buggers up the Rama 9 riding at the weekend....

Alberto Contador has won his third Tour de France ahead of Andy Schleck and Denis Menchov. Well done by the Spaniard on this close and very controversy Tour de France.

Green jersey goes to Alessandro Pettachi

White jersey to Andy Schleck

Climber jersey goes to Anthony Charteau

Overall team standing has been won by Team Radioshack.

Maybe a race too far for Armstrong, even taking all his bad luck out of the equation, I still think he would have been off the pace, maybe age creeping up on him now. Still he raised the profile for his charity and they won the team race.

All in an enjoyable tour, good battles between Contador and Andy Schleck, roll on next year.

We can only hope for an amazing battle between Contador and the Schleck brothers next year!

Yes but all of them will be racing for a new team next year.

It is confirmed that Contador will not continue with Astana, he might move to Saxo Bank team as the Schleck brothers will join a new formed team in their home country.

Another option for Contador will be to move with Eusebio Unzue ( Banesto team manager when M.Indurain won 5 straights tour de France ) to Caisse d'Erpagne.

Cheers
