Attorney General Office to Submit Petition to Dissolve Democrat Party Tomorrow

Deputy attorney general revealed the petition for the dissolution of the Democrats has been complete, expects the petition to be submitted to the Constitution Court tomorrow. The Democrat Party has been accused of violating election law by accepting and failed to report Bt258 million donation.

Textile factory in Samut Prakan burnt down

SAMUT PRAKARN: -- A massive fire swept through a textile factory here early Monday, causing damages worth some Bt20 million but no injuries.

Police said the fire broke out at the Future Textile Co Ltd in Phra Samutchedi district at 5:30 am.

Fire fighters and 20 fire engines took about three hours to control the blaze.

Nipha Samarnchia, 40, the factory owner, said she estimated the damages at some Bt20 million.

Dep PM Inspects Development Projects in South

The deputy prime minister presses authorities in the southern border provinces to speed up their disbursement of the state budgets on the development of the region into a special economic zone after their spending is still below the government's target.

Deputy Prime Minister in charge of national security Suthep Thaugsuban today participated in the meeting of the subcommittee on the push for special economic zone for five southernmost provinces at Pattani's provincial hall.

Suthep said this fiscal year will end in the next two moths, so the project must be accelerated constantly.

The deputy PM then suggested the disbursement of budgets for development in the region is still still slow, resulting in the underspending .

Suthep said his visit today was aimed to get updated about the recent problems facing the project and cautioned unoperational projects must be replaced.

He said he will inspect the restive region every 10 days.

A large number of security personnel were deployed at Pattani's provincial hall and nearby roads to ensure security for Suthep and his entourage.

Red shirts, Pheu Thai to organize concerts, rallies nationwide to raise fund

The red-shirt movement will organize concerts in provinces, which are not under the state of emergency to raise fund to help those killed or injured during the crackdowns against red-shirt protesters.

Jatuporn Promphan, a red-shirt leader and Pheu Thai party-list MP, said the first concert will be held at Wat Omnoi in Samut Sakhon on August 1.

He said the concerts will be organized in all provinces, which are not under the state of emergency.

Singers, who performed at the Rajprasong rally, will perform in the concerts, he said.

He said the Pheu Thai will also hold political rallies in provinces, which are not under the state of emergencies.
