It is the number of the house and area (I think) rather than specific soi necessarily. They don't follow suit up the road like western house numbers they an be dotted about - makes it a nightmare to find a place by address.

If the address is a block of shop houses the address for the individual shops in that building will be numbered 42/1 42/2 42/3 etc followed by the name of the road/soi etc.

First numbers are the the area or moo bahn. Second numbers after the "/" are the building number. Hence 123/23 would be moo bahn area followed by /building or house number 23.

I live in 33/257 Moo 2

It is the building number 33, room number 257, 2nd village.

For a house it is usually village number/house number

It's not easy.

If the address is 6/43 Moo3 then

Moo 3 is the section within the Tambon

6 is an area within that section

43 is the house number within that area.

Please excuse my descriptions, but I do not know the Thai words

(You can also have Soi's and village names included in the address. My American friends tell me that I have the longest address that they have ever seen!)

in my case 33/3 sukhumvit 11 (not real address).

33 is the address of a small sub soi on 11, 3 is the house number on that sub soi.

likewise in a condo, the first number would be main street address the number after the / would be the unit within the (building)main address.
