Connecting A Gps In The New Jazz

I got a garmin gps and i want to use it in the car. Normally you would connect it to the lighter socket.. however those are not available in the new jazz . So i thought i would connect it to the usb (available in the jazz) but then the garmin switches to computer mode and cant be used to navigate.

Does anyone have any suggestions.

What gps model do you have? sometimes just changing the settings would do.

Oregon: setup>system>interface>garmin spanner. Then after connecting usb: "would you like to go to Mass Storage?", press "no"

Dumb suggestion (I don't have a Jazz), but it's not hidden behind a panel somewhere without the lighter itself being installed is it?

I was thinking about that too and will even let them mod the car its not a big deal. But i was looking for other suggestions first thanks.

Look for a square feature in the cente console labelled "Power Outlet 12V 120W Max" - lift that up and voila

Yup, lift that little square thingy, the plug behind works just great for my Nuvi 205.

Thanks just checked it and i have it.. now i just have to find the plug for it i know i have it somewhere. Thanks a million. When i asked the sales girl about a siggarete lighter she said mai mee.
