Davidcharles
You must be fedup with these questions, but I would be grateful if you would tell me - a. How is a Buddhist marriage arranged? b. Is it recognised in the UK? c. Must one have a Civil one also? d. Anything else you think I should know....... Thanks.
The_Moog
a)Arrange it with the temple. You can get all of the bog standard marital stuff there. Tambun ceremony, lotus blooms, monks, lucky cockney chimney sweep. Not the temple part specifically, but a wedding that is regarded as legally binding in Thailand will be equally binding under UK law. c) Yes, the Wat ceremony is always accompanied with a trip to the Govt Registry office to do the legal execution. d) Anything else: - - A meal in a nice restaurant for the family of the new Missus and your guests will constitute a befitting and appropriate end to the days festivities. - Stag night is not mandatory, but recommended given the location. KevinN
You can have the WAT gig if you want,,the family wants you to have it,as then they get to eat a lot of free food and get a party so you will spend a lot of money on food and presents and a real lot of booze, and everyone likes a Thai man when he is drunk,as most are usually in that condition if they can get the scratch for the alcohol. Or you can do the paper work and go to the amphur and get it registered instead and it will be legal anywhere in the world.

You can do both if it pleases her.
