I come from Poland, as you know it's not a country where english is an official language. But let's say I would like to teach english in Thailand, what would I have to do?

I was thinking of getting B.A of Arts in English at Ramkhamhaeng University and then TEFL course if needed. Would that be enough?

Also I noticed that in many teaching job offers it is cleary stated "native speakers only".

At some schools, native speaker means 'white skin'. Many don't care if you are from an English speaking country or not.

Take a look at ajahn.com, lots of elevant information on this site.

A Polish guy, who didn't have a degree, completed our course a couple of years ago and found full-time employment with a work permit at a school just outside Chiang Mai within a week. I believe he had already developed a relationship with the school while he was training.

If you email me, I'll send you a contact email address so that you can discuss with him in Polish training at SEE and employment .

This is an interesting info but I don't believe I can make it with TEFL only. My english is not good enough yet. To do that B.A of Arts in English first is a necessity. And I believe it is not a waste of time since I will improve my language skills and get a degree.
