Where is this exactly ?

between chaya pruk and the jomtien harbor

There is no harbour in Jomtien - it's a long crescent-shaped beach. Judging by the armco in the pictures, I guess it's near the new Jomtien second road which is still under construction. It's also a long way from the beach, so sit there and don't look towards the land and you'll be fine.

I agree it looks terrible and I know where it is.

The same garbage like on your pictures could be seen in the sea a few day's ago at Dongtan Beach. This was the second time this month that for many day's you could not get into the water without being covered in plastic bags or get tangled in all sorts of rubbish!

It takes about 5 day's and many tides till all is washed up the beach and the poor vendor's have to clean up several times a day.

The City-hall which is informed from many different sides are not even show up or come to collect the rubbish cleaned by all the different people.

I'm sometimes just wondering what are the priorities of people in charge for this matters?????

This looks like the beach in Kamala, Phuket last time I was there. You will find it all over Thailand, because no one care.

In BKK we rather have the problem with non-maintained houses and never finished buildings. A 10 year old house or building ofter looks like slum, if it is thai maintained (means no maintainance). Way too many eye-poobs everywhere! In addition the bacteries level in the oceans are way too high, because thais use it as toilet / dump, so no swimming at the picturesque beaches here, if you care about your health. Swimming pools are not much better.

The government should do something about it, or the remaining tourists will soon be gone to cleaner and more beautiful places.

Vote with your feet (and $$$) - go elsewhere! The rubbish is not just at the places in your photos, it's also ON THE BEACH, at both Wongamat and Jomtien and in a lot of other places in-between. Of course there are other "attractions" in Pattaya but it's always nice to have a cleaner environment (does not have to be pristine) to enjoy other aspects of Pattaya. Sometimes the amount of rubbish on the beaches is so sad to see and can only entrench the town's unsavoury cesspit image, which I used to think was unfair but am starting to change my mind.

Yes, the beaches are getting worse every year. Jomtien, Dongtan look like a garbage dump the last weeks and you have to wade through garbage, including numerous condoms, tells you where the sewage comes from. ********* just published a major downgrade of most Thai beaches. Definitely many better places for beach vacations. I meet many disappointed families with their kids, when they come to Dongtan for the first time. None of them will be back.

Thailand needs a change in attitude. Will it ever happen? :realangry:
