Signage Cock-Ups In Phuket

Featured Replies

^ That reminds me of one I saw a few years ago at a resort I was staying at in Kanchanburi. When I drove my car in there was a parking spot with a sign that read "Fukcar only" At the time I had a friend in my car and he commented that it was nice that someone had reserved me a parking space  .

It took me a moment to realise that they didnt want motorcycles parking in that particular area.

Well until a month or so ago there used to be a couple of signs in the airport and nearby with Keith Floyd - the Brit celebrity chef - welcoming you to Phuket. Only problem is he died a year ago today.

The other one I dont get is 'Kee Plaza' in Patong.

Sponsored by a well known alcoholic beverage company; a sign seen at the north end of Kata Beach and also at the Chalong Pier speedboat beach.

"Please Wear Jacket Lift"

My favourite is a restaurant at Kamala with "Gordon Bull" on the menu board.....I am assuming Cordon Bleu was intended

I was looking for insurance for my yacht last month. On the road to Chalong, just past Central I saw a sign outside of an office "TOKYO MARINE INSURANCE", I went in to inquire, only to be told that they don't do marine insurance. Silly farang. Go figure!!!
