Road On Phangan

Featured Replies

Hi,

I’m going to Phangan next month and looking for the best place to stay. Have to choose between Ban Tai and Haad Salad. Does anybody know if there’s a concrete road between Ban Tai and Salad and how long is it to drive with motorbike? Thanks for every answer

There is no direct road from Had Salad to Ban Tai as far as I am aware, but the roads between Had Salad, Thong Sala and Ban Tai are concreted.

On my last visit about a month ago, they were re-concreting the Haad Salad road, from the main road, so it should be done by now....

There is another road that has been put along the west coast road, via Sua Thaunu,, (spelling probably wrong there)... It's a bit of a roller coaster ride, especially toward the north end..... but has some good coast line views.... although not easy to park & take pics at good view points. That road was finished about two years ago, so you have two choices from Tonsala.

The what I call centre road, starts at Tesco, in Tonsala... which will take you to the Haad Salad road, but there is no signs that come to mind, to tell you where to turn!

If you see signs to Mae Haad Beach, or the elephant rides, you have gone about 2 kms too far! But you might want to check out Mae Haad Beach too~!

Which ever way you go, it should not take much more than 1/2 hour... it depends on "pit stops" on the way! ;)

If ya want to stay at ban tai,I know of A couple reasonable places to stay.Message me and i'll tell ya about them.
