"Sorry For Incontinence"

Featured Replies

I went to a big hotel in Patong today. When I arrived at the reception desk I discovered many papers all over the counter. It was a letter to all customers about today's fire drill and the management wrote an apologize to their customers.

In one sentence they said "Sorry for incontinence".

So I asked a lady behind the counter(pointing at the "incontinence")

"Can you please read this word for me?" She pronounced in a perfect English to me:"Sorry for inconvenience....".

I asked her to check the grammar again in her book, when she came back with a red face and a bit of smiling they all started to laugh behind the counter...

My last suggestion was to take off all the papers from the counter and write a new ones.

What ThaiGerd didn't tell you was that he pissed himself with laughter reading the notice..........:whistling:

No, I did not because I was not sure what to say at the first moment...

If it was something out of their control - incontinence may well have been a more appropriate word

Just joking Gerd - no offence meant.

Wow! That must be a direct translation. No wonder I'm finding it hard to learn Thai.

We all love these funny notices - but I will never understand why they don't just ask an English speaker to check them out??!
