Hi guys,i'd like to import a 11 yrs old car now value is £2,500.how much would it cost,the information i;ve been given wasn't clear enough from the gov site itself 80% import tax which means from the price u paid for or is it from what it worth now?? I paid for this car £15000.many thnksss...

Take a look at this link, try using the search function too, several threads on this board concerning this . The general gist from most of them is not to import a car, as you may end up paying over 300% tax over the estimated value and transport costs.

But... have read a few success stories too..

I have never heard any success stories, only stories of disaster. My advice is don't even think about it. 

The result is the Thai authorities rubbing their hands together, easy and rich pickings for them, you suffer stress and and an empty wallet. 

If it was possible I would never buy a car here, much too expensive.
