2 Weeks Of Accom In Kata / Karon

Ok, so I live in Rawai, I possibly need to spend 2 weeks in the Kata / Karon area.. What's the cheapest decent accom going to cost me and should I book online or get off my butt n do some running around?!

Kata fried chicken or whatever that guesthouse is doing was advertising real cheap rooms.. Like 500 baht with a breakfast or something equally low cost.

400 baht a day.. with wifi and breakfast.. Free airport pickup and 10% off all other food..

Times must be tight.

Southern Fried Rice is a very good guesthouse, but I think it only has 1 or maybe 2 rooms at that price. Be prepared for it to be noisy at night as its only about 20 metres from the night bazaar (complex of outdoor girly bars).

You probably couldn't walk for 50 yards in Kata without stumbling across a guest house. Generally speaking, the ones on, or around, Patak Road (near gasoline station) will be the cheapest. Less tailor shops too . You could also try the Little Mermaid if you also want shared access to a pool.

As Tony has knocked down 1,5-2 million baht of bars and swimmingpool built only 5-6 years ago, I am sure whatever he builds is going to be higher and takes more than a year to complete. Expect piling within a few weeks.

Which will make Southern Fried rice GH one of the most noisy in Kata. But quiet at the moment, as no construction has started

Edit Guess I have to take tha quiet bit back, as the rooms facing the bars must be noisy until 2-3am

I'd venture to say it's either going to be the shophouse/guesthouse theme that has been all the rage in kata the last few years, or a hotel/resort. Can't see anything else going in that would be as profitable in that location. Either way that stretch of road isn't very family friendly with all the bars around it.

seconded, 3-4 story, max 12 meters in this location, not sure he must build a new pool due to agreements, if so I guess on a roof to maximize land

Oh joy.. more nice boxy shophouses on the side of every road..
