Knos
Looking for a good tattooist on samui as its the last leg of my trip after japenese style koi and that if anyone has some good places? Thanks
screamingeagle
What you need to do is look at the books of examples of a few tattoo artists and select the best. Look for japenese style koi tats, make sure the artist did them himself and select your choice. Enjoy the pain!

screamingeagle
What just go round to the places and check there work? Yes. And get a quote for the job, not an hourly rate!

Boo
Tong from Monster Tattoo in Bohput is good, he has another shop now in Lamai, bottom end if you were coming in from Chaweng before the cross junction. Best to just go into the studios & ask to see their photos and make a decision from there.

If you have the oppurtunity or are returning through Bangkok I would check out Jimmy Wong or Mr Tung, both really top shelf artist's. Sak Yant temple tattoos are also a very cool thing about thailand and could be worth a look for you.
