Booking Accommodation

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I am not sure if this is in the right section or not.Apologies and please feel free to move if necessary. I have a question regardinga friend of mine booking accommodation in Koh Samui. They found the place viaAsia Rooms, looks very nice. However the booking system is via email and forms.Part of the hotel security has asked for a copy of passport and the credit card(both sides). Is this a common way to do this in Thailand? Can someone shed abit of light on this for me.

Thanks

I have used asiarooms.com in the past. They are an OK outfit. I also like res24.com and latestays.com. I don't ever remember having to submit a copy of my passport for a reservation...nor a copy of my credit card. I just use the credit card number and that's it. Seems strange.

I would also recommend dialing up the hotel directly. You might even get a better rate...and you would be dealing directly with them and not a middleman....
