Divorce By Mutual Consent

Featured Replies

If my wife and I agree to get divorced and everything has been agreed upon

Do we have to go to the Amphur office where we originally married (Mukdahan) or can we

get the divorce at the Amphur office in Korat where she now lives?

Thanks

LL

Short answer.... yes you can do that in Khorat.

Hello

Thanks for your reply

I have a couple other questions I am hoping someone can clarify for me

It is regarding changing her last name back to her family name

- In Thailand, does she have to change her last name back to her family name?

- Is it her choice if she wants to keep my last name?

- If I want her to change her last name back to her family name, does she have to?

- If she plans to change her name back to her family name, does she have to do it before

we go to Amphur office? or can she do it after?

- If she can change her family name after signing for the divorce, is there a set time limit

for her to change her name

The reason we are looking for clarification is that she is travelling very soon to the USA and

we are concerned about her last name at time of travel, as on her passport, visa and flight coupon

she has my last name listed

Any clarifications would be appreciated

Thanks

LL
