Took a peek at Honda Europe's Virtual Press Office, no news on the 2012 CBR250R-fi (not even for new color schemes). There are some new pictures of the 2012 CBR125R-fi.

Seeing as the color schemes between the three small CBRs (125,150, 250) have more or less been similar there might be one in "Repsol" colors next year (especially since their winning in MotoGP).

The Repsol colour scheme is available on the CBR125 in Australia, Looks great. But I havent seen on a 250 yet.

Took the cbr250 to BIRA yesterday, made it to the second corner and crashed...lol. No damage as I lost the front and the bike landed on me. But I couldn't stop laughing at myself as I was driving back to the pits. 2km on the clock when I crashed...must be some kind of record.

Took it out again later in the day just to break it in and got it upto an indicated 151km/hr on the straight. Just a namban full race exhaust, airbox cover removed and ECU reset for mods so far. Lots more to come

Haha, that's good you weren't hurt.

Will be great to hear of what you do with it - mods, performance, opinions.

Good to hear you're having fun with it anyway.

Did you change those IRC tyres yet? I'm on Pirelli Sport Demons and the difference was great, but think you can get some nice Diablos which would probably be more up your street.

Still had the stock tires on, will be changing then before I take it back to the track maybe this weekend, but I have to use a Thai made tire if I enter the moto3 race. Going to try the izr 003 IRC.

Michelin Pilot Sporty's are made in Thailand. Run you around 3k baht for the pair.

Better get it up past 151kph, my CBR 150 is touching that.;)

U can hit 151km/hr at BIRA? Doubt it, I believe the stock cbr250 only hit around 140km/hr on the starting straight at BIRA. I will need to get it higher if I want to be competitive, but I am about 82kgs without gear, so I'm already at a weight disadvantage.

My ER6 can hit 177km/hr (GPS) and cbr1000 hits 238km/hr at BIRA.

sooo wanna go try out that track with my NSR.

Bring a jet ski mo betta

It sucks that the track is flooded and will probably be out of commission for a long time. My plan was just to race the cbr250 at Thailand circuit where I think i had a good chance to run some good laptimes. BIRA is starting to get boring so it'll soon be time to try out Kaeng krachan again. I think there's a highside tours trackday there on nov 26/27.

Hi all

got the black 250abs about 4 weeks ago,was going for the kwaka 650 but i saw

it ,it just didn't look right.the 250 is dated.

I love my honda and is great fun,i sold my cb1 400 because it was getting to old

and to expensive to run.The 250 is about the same speed upto 100 but after that the

400 was faster, also i can chuck the 250 around much more making it much more fun.

the only thing i have changed is the screen, black from honda 500bt.when the fuel light

starts flashing how many km will it go for?I am getting no where near the fuel econemy

other people are but that might just be my style of riding.

I'm in SUKHOTHAI if anyone up for a trip?:D :D :D

fuel light comes on early. With 3 litres left I think. Should be good for about 80km or so.

Don't take much notice of fuel economy but think I get around 32kmpl if pottering around the place, and roughly worked it out to be 24kmpl when pinning it from Khon Kaen to Bangkok at an indicated 160kph.

btw you live in a perfect place for riding. Over to Tak and around the Burmese border mountains, or up around to the MHS loop, or North-West to Nan and Phrae etc, or over to Petchabun/Lomsak etc.

Could do a different one every weekend.

You lucky bastard. :D

Yeah. And my 150 has gone 140 in 4th gear, 180+ in 6th.

You need a better ECU. The 250 is very lean to meet emissions.

I was over in Sydney last week, was quite surprised to see quite a few CBR's around town, and quite an advertising presence around the bike shops as well.

The Tri-Color colour scheme looks OK, but not as good as the tri-color 150 IMO.

So, they run lean. I've had a pinging in the engine when doing a roll-on in 4th or 5th gear. Thought it was crook gasoline at first. But I've filled up at 3 different places and it's still there.

So I go to Mityon at Thappraya Rd and the mechanic tightens the chain!

The I go to Mityon on the corner of 3rd and Pattaya Tai and the mechanic tells me to use better oil! I draw him a diagram of the crank with TDC a timing mark and a piston and spark plug, point to the TDC and say Mai Dee. He then proceeds to tell me there is no such part on the CBR250r.

Aaargh!!! Are they stupid or are they stupid? Even if it's electronic, it has to have timing for the spark plug.

And then we when to the big bike shop on 3RD and the mechanic there says it's the oil!

At that point I said to the missus, I'll ask on the forum. At least you guys make sense most of the time.

Now, does anyone know of a real, not stupid, mechanic that can work on my bike? Preferably within 40km of Pattaya.

I'm the exact same.

It's developed slowly over the last few thousand or so km. In 6th as well. Pull back the throttle at say 4000rpm and it will knock maybe three times by the time it gets to 6000rpm.

Mainly seems to be between 5-6000rpm.

I've over 22,000km on the bike and had the valves and shims checked at the 6000km service (I think, perhaps the 12,000km one).

What usually causes it, and how to fix it?

I'm not overly bothered by it unless it gets worse, but would be nice to get rid of it.

Anyone?

I agree with your assessment of the color scheme,

post-82655-0-10852000-1321967840_thumb.j

but here's the things. The paint scheme on the new 2012 is the same as used on the 150's and 125's OUTSIDE of Thailand. So I'm thinking that maybe, just maybe, the tri-color 250 for Thailand will be the same as the 150 is now. I was going to buy a red/silver/black 250, then have it painted to pretty much match my 150 tri-color. But now I think I'll hold off till the '12 model comes out and see if the Thai version is the same as the 150 now. If so, I'll go that way. If it's the same as Stateside/Australia, etc, it still wouldn't be that hard to repaint.
