Hi All

I tried accessing both vertor.com and thepiratebay.org on the internet and both seemed to have been blocked ........as anyone got any advice (sensible please ) on how I may unblock and access torrents???.

The website http://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/ says:

http://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/ is operated by Google from the US.

It appears both sites are down and are not being blocked.

Use another torrent service.

As mentioned above, the test sites show it is down for everyone so not a block.

Seems like an attack has brought down the major torrent servers. You will just have to wait until the servers come back on line.

Remember Google is you friend.

October 18, 2010, by EL 8 The Pirate Bay has been inaccessible to millions of people over the last few hours, due to technical problems. There is no need to panic though, as the site is scheduled to be back online soon.

When one of the larger torrent sites goes offline many users immediately assume the worst. A blockade from their ISP, or even a raid on the site’s servers. Luckily this is not the case.

It’s not a DDoS attack as some suggested.

It’s not the MPAA, RIAA or even Anonymous.

The hamsters didn’t die either.

FreakBits was told by the Pirate Bay team that the current downtime is part of some regular maintenance. The site is expected to return within 24 hours.

In the meantime Pirate Bay users can always try out on of the other sites from the list of 25 most visited torrent sites.

Piratebay was working last night and no throttling by TOT for a change.Was getting over 350kps from a 4mb package so very pleased if this continues
