Dear all,

Have not been at the IT meetings for the last few months flooding, parking problems car, family visiting Thailand and New Year reception Pattaya - just all bad luck....

Lets see if people are still interested in this meeting and if we can continue where we stopped.

Next IT meeting will be Thursday February 2nd in Soi 8 Bar, Sukhumvit Soi 8, Bangkok - start around 07:00pm

Please let me know who will attend the meeting so we all know who will come - again.

Urandon - Colin Chapman - Dharmabam - Crushdepth - DevDrinker - BugJackBaron - Flash77 - Pacopeco - William Sandin - Kenny - Pinair - Justsomehelp - Kmdkk

Would like to know if people want to buy the Raspberry Pi model B (256MB RAM) - this looks like a very, very nice Linux PC to play with

Look at http://www.raspberrypi.org/ and have a look at how XBMC works on this 'credit card' PC

Hope to see everybody again next month!

Cheers,

Had a look at it but not really understand what a "Cotton Candy" is - by the way, "Cotton Candy" sounds more like a porn website......

Question: more people showing up tomorrow evening ot just me, M1K3 and Justsumhelp??

Cheers,

Hello,

Good to see that some old members show up again ;-)

Hope to see more people show up tonight so we maybe have to go look for a new venue as Soi 8 Bar will be to small for us.

See you all tonight.

Cheers,

Hello everyone!

My name is Nicolaas and I am from South Africa - currently in Hua Hin. I happened upon this thread and wondered whether anyone knows of a similar get together near here?

Also, I want to help out (with Linux-y stuff and such) and take part but cannot travel to Bangkok - have any suggestions? Do you guys have an IRC room or something - or is this thread the only and official home of the Grungthep-Gnu-Gurus (or whatever)? :)

Regards

Nicolaas

Just a few people showed up last night, maybe still flooding in Bangkok????

Anyway, following members showed up: Flash77, Justsomehelp, M1K3 (new member), Dharmabam (late) and myself

My compliment for M1K3 who wants to run his whole office on open software clap2.gif I think you should offer Dharmabam a job!

We discussed Sun hardware (why do you want to buy that), Samsung phone, root access on a Samsung phone and Dharmabam showed us his new toy, an Acer tab (correct) with USB port.

Normally Urandom tries to 'hack' my PC but this time it was Justsomehelp who was using Droidsheep on his mobile to fool my laptop.....

Unfortunately I had to go back early to Pattaya because of transport issues, maybe next time I should overnight in Bangkok!

Looks like next meeting will be March 1st - time for a high turnout.

Hope to see you all again.

Cheers,

Nicolaas,

I am afraid that you either have to come to Bangkok or follow this thread as there is no other 'chapter' in Thailand yet.
