Bathroom Scales - Accurate And Reliable Inbangkok

Featured Replies

I'd like to buy a set of bathroom scales in Bangkok. I've purchased several of these back in the UK, most of them are completely unreliable, I can weigh myself four or five times in quick succession and get completely different readings each time, sometimes more than 1 KG (2.2 pounds) higher or lower over a few readings.

In the end I got a set back in the UK which appeared to over weigh by about 1KG but they did this reliably every time so I stuck with them.

I searched this forum already and saw a reference to a Japanese brand of scales called Tanita, does anyone know where I can go and buy some in Bangkok. Emporium maybe ?

Central have the whole Tanita range, there a lot more than you'd pay in the west though. A US$140 set cost me over B6'500.

I have a cheap Tanita digital I bought about 3 years ago for about 1000 baht. Repeat readings are pretty consistent.

One oddity in BKK is that you will generally not find bathroom scales in the Bathroom section. try the Sports and Outdoor section. Most department stores will sell them.

Thanks for the input, I'll go shopping at some point and pick up a set, probably in Central.

My scales are wonderful, they consistently under read my weight.
