Urgent Help Needed!

I have an urgent situation! My mother took a flight to Samui at 8 a.m.. She is 54 years old and never was to foreighn countries,does not speak English, only Russian. She does not have any money left even for a taxi to get to Samui Palm Beach where i got reservation for her. Taxi not go. Only off road car can go.Can anyone help me to find out where she is??? Can not reach Koh Samui Airport.Can anybody contact airport???Please help! My number is xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Olesya

The tourist police should be able to help. They have a couple of Russian speaking volunteers. The only number that I have for them is 1155.

I am sure that your mum will be OK. Let us know what happens. (I cannot phone you - mobile battery is dead and no power for re-charge!)

It is still flooded outside Anantara but more importantly vehicles can get through. I'm sure Palm Beach will send someone to pick up the lady.

I find beyond starnge that she, in her first time in a foreign Country, has flown to Samui with not even the money for a Taxi though & doesn't speak any English, rain or no rain..

yes please that will be great!!! her name is Lubov Yudina from Magnitogorsk ,,Russia. But i called to the hotel and they say road is full of water...

i understamd what u say but she spent 24 hours at Bangkok airport and bought new ticket to Samui and i could not send her money via Western Union because was no electricity on Phangan yesterday!!

I wish that the battery on my laptop had lasted a bit longer, it would have saved me some gasoline . Glad that mum is fine.

and the fish are escaping again from Plai Laem temple (It happened the last time that we had flood) . Do not be surprised if we loose another fisherman - the water is very fast flowing

Hello there - I have almost the same situtation - just that my mom is 73 and stuck at the BKK-Airport... anyone on the island has news about Samui Airport? and the streets?... couldn't find a lot on the internet - thanx folks

The airport was definitely closed earlier, but it must be open now. The Thai Airways flight came in OK and I have heard at least one other flight. No rain at the moment, but the power is missing one phase. Second phase on low voltage - third phase OK

The only way to get to the airport when I went looking for the other guy's mum was from

1 the new tarmac'ed road (by Bandon Hospital and the ISS and there is some deep water there too - just by the Chinese graves

2 The turning just north of Chewang (past Nora resort etc)

It's OK to departures and a bit of water to get to arrivals. The road to the airport from Bang Rak (market area)was still closed at about 5 pm

Thai Airways is gone. Bangkok Airways flies till 23:30h.

3rd way to the airport: coming from Bophut at Bangrak 100 meter before the airport road right to the beginning of the runaway, left over the now very sandy way along the beginning of the runway to the airport road and further to the airport.
