moo9
If you use HQ equipment meeting intl. standards....might be fine, but at least on the market the 2nd choice low quality seems to be sold. If my neighbor would ruin my shortwave he would be in trouble anyway....cheers

lomatopo
The Netgear and Belkin Powerline products sold in the U.S. are FCC Class B certified. The end-user reviews at places like Newegg seem positive on connectivity and installation, and no interference issues, but most report performance issues, specifically throughput. I guess this could be due to poor wiring in homes in the U.S.?
DisainaM
knowing, that the topic isn`t hot att all, but giving my 2 cents. I took a couple of tp-link powerline 200 fromm europe, 1.200 Bt / 31 Euro a pair (from amazone). Based on the fact, that my ip cams of d-link have an old mpeg stream, (this is 20x more, than the modern H.264 stream), after the first cam is connected over wifi, it wasn`t possible, to connect a second cam with a high resolution, so, without the chance, to put cabel all around the garden, I used powerline. They are working pretty good, but they have a problem with the unstable power quote, so, after a time, I had to replace one, but getting the same information, the price in Thailand is around 3.500 bt a pair, and this wouldn`t change before ASEAN 2015. So, its no mistake, let someone bring you a pair of powerlines from europe, that you have them allways in stock.
Chicog
Wifi simply doesnt solve the need.. 6 dreambox nodes that need a network connection and a rented villa that cannot be drilled. Dreambox needs about 16 BYTES a minute to sustain a connection, and that's with an overzealous provider doing frequent updates. And you can't run six of those on 802.11N?
