I have been warned for posting an article on something that news articles from Thailand have discussed on the grounds that this action is illegal in Thailand. <deleted>? All I wanted to know was if this action was really that widespread as the article suggested.

Please, someone tell when it's okay to discuss these issues and when not to as it seems that illegal subjects pop up on this forum from time to time.

If I mention it they might "warn" me again, but here it goes. I found a news article that was protarying Thais as serious enough gamblers that they would sell themselves or loved ones into the sex trade to cover a debt. I thought the article a bit out of line and wanted the forums opinion on it. I posted the articled and asked if it was right. I then got a PM that said I was warned and gamble was illegal in Thailand.

According to this line of thinking many things on the forum should be deleted and people warned. So, I don't understand what I did wrong.

They canned that one to, but I guess I can understand why on that one.

Different Mods have different standards, however I could see that it could quickly get off-topic so it would be dumped sooner or later.

If they were worried that in might get out of hand I might understand, but to just tell me I have been warned because gambling is illegal in Thailand. That doesn't make sense. Prostitution is illegal and something that is talked about quite a lot on the this forum. George has posted news articles on gambling. So, I just don't see that I did anything that deserves a "warning".

And Mods shouldn't have different standards. Everyone should be treated equally.

I tend to agree with you thaibebop... :D

Getting a warning would not be pleasant I would imagine... :o

Have you PM'd the mod in question for clarification?

Taoism: shit happens

Buddhism: if shit happens, it isn't really shit

Islam: if shit happens, it is the will of Allah

Catholicism: if shit happens, you deserve it

Judaism: why does this shit always happen to us?

Atheism: I don't believe this shit

Yes, but they have not yet responded. I'll wait a little while than maybe post in the Forum area. If I can be given a reasonable explaintion for why it was closed I will be happy. That's all I want, or an "I'm sorry" if it was uncalled for.

I have sent the OP a response.

Well done mods. :D

So does his warning level still stand?

That's enough moderation issues for now.

Just to clarify this for the future, we can get into big trouble for having gambling discussions on the board. Site that do run the risk of being blocked. Paranoid? Hey, TiT and you know how it can be.

So Gambling cannot be discussed here, sorry for that. The forum rules have been made more explicit to make this clear.
