BERLIN, GERMANY (BNO NEWS) -- Suspected Nazi guard Samuel Kunz died at age 89 before his trial was open regarding his participation in the killing of around 430,000 Jews at the SS Trawniki and Belzec death camp, officials said Monday.

Kunz, the third suspect in Wiesenthal Center's most-wanted list of Nazi war criminals, died last Thursday, a German state court said Monday, but no details regarding his death were released.

In July, a German court indicted Kunz for being personally responsible for the deaths of 10 people and participating in death camps SS Trawniki and Belzec death camps from January 1942 through July 1943, which were located in then-occupied Poland. His case was brought up in connection with 90-year-old war criminal John Demjanjuk.

Kunz was indicted on charges he was involved in the entire chain of killing Jews at the Belzec death camp, including taking victims from trains, leading them into gas chambers to throwing corpses into mass graves.
