Nearest Bts/Mrt To Khaosan Road

It's a toss-up between National Stadium (BTS) and Hua Lampong (MRT), but neither is very near: 3.5-4km/80baht taxi ride/1 hour's stroll from either to the north end of Suan Luang which is near enough to KSR as to make no difference.

One easy option is to take the BTS to Saphan Taksin and then the river taxi/touristboat to pier n13 (Phra Ahtit IIRC)

Taking the boat is a great option....little longer but easy

I would say it would be Ratchatwi, the one after Siam and before Pha Yathai, then get a 20 minute motorbike taxi

Yep. Straightforward to get there from Ratchathewi. Might be a bit far on a bike though, but certainly faster than a taxi.

One other interesting daytime option from RATCHATHEWI is to exit the station and take the 200 meter walk to the Canal Boat pier. Take the boat to the last stop. From there, KSR is about a B30 motorcycle taxi ride.

Also, from anywhere on Sukhumvit, you can take the air conditioned #511 bus: B16. Get off when you see dozens of lottery sellers on your left. Cross the intersection at the lights and KSR starts one block up.

that bus takes FOREVER. for me, from sukhumvit, the only option that isn't maddeningly slow is moto taxi.
