Police Conduct Purge Of South Pattaya To Ensure Safety Of Tourists

The Pattaya Police have carried out a purge of beggars, street hawkers, prostitutes and other individuals deemed a nuisance and safety risk for tourists. The operation is intended to project a positive image for the resort prior to the forthcoming festive season.

Pattaya, 15 December 2010 (PDN): At 1.00 am on Wednesday Lieutenant Colonel Arun Phromphan, Chief Inspector of the Pattaya Tourist Police, lead a team of investigators and tourism police volunteers to purge the south Pattaya area of beggars, street hawkers, prostitutes and other individuals deemed to be a nuisance and a threat to tourists. The operation was carried out along Pattaya Beach, Walking Street and in the South Pattaya area.

Pattaya Tourist Police conduct Christmas Beach clean-up

PATTAYA: -- Forty-Seven people were arrested by the Tourist Police who conducted a New Year Beach Road and Second Road clean-up of street beggars and others who were loitering. Police Major Arun, the Inspector-in-Charge of the Pattaya Tourist Police led the operation, assisted by officers and volunteers. They were on the lookout for anyone who was acting in an illegal or anti-social manner. The detainees included a selection of Cambodian street beggars, transsexuals and prostitutes on Pattaya Beach.

No such thing as prostitutes in Pattaya or anywhere else in Thailand!!!!

They should conduct a purge on themselves first!! , a famous quote by someone i can't remember ...... "before you try to remove the speck from someone else's eye - remove the plank from yopur own"!!!

Just looking at the Photo:

PDN everybody in the photo seem to be very happy, guy in the front in red thinks it very amusing.

PON the ladies seem to be very experienced in posing in a line up all that is missing is the glass window.

I really do not think a 100 - 200B fine is worrying anybody, not an effective deterrent.
