Ent Specialist In Bangkok-Pattaya Hospital?

Featured Replies

Can anyone recommend a good ENT specialist in Bangkok-Pattaya Hospital, please?

I was at Bangkok-Pattaya hospital last week and saw Dr Nucharut. My problem wasn't complicated, excessive wax and ear itch. She cleaned out the wax and gave me some cream for the itch, which seems to have worked. So bsed on that one visit I would recommend her.

Thanks. I'm looking for something a bit more complicated than that, though. A friend has some long-standing problems that seem to be rooted in the throat/tonsil area, but are affecting various other bits and pieces now. It's been variously diagnosed as quinsy and/or an unspecified allergy by the doctors at Queen Sirikit. However, it's not going away and I am getting a bit worried. Given the nature of the complaint (an unspecified allergy?) it sounds to me as if it might be difficult to make an accurate diagnosis, so I need someone who really knows their stuff and who will not just prescribe yet more painkillers and anti-histamines to save face because they don't have a clue what's really wrong. An ENT specialist in Pattaya, or even Sri Racha, would be most convenient, but failing that I may just have to go to Bumrungrad.

i have seen her many times before

she has removed a persistant growth inside my nose with a laser on a few occasions

we refer to it now as having a BBQ

i find her very professional and affable.

i second the recommendation

OK, noted thanks.

Do you mind saying what it is the approximate cost there for a wax removal?

The entire bill was B 755 broken down as follows:

1. Medication (cream) B 55

2. General medical equipment 100

3. Physician evaluation 200

4. Physician procedure fee 400

I'm surprised. Based on my one experience at that hospital for some laser surgery, I am surprised they didn't find a way to charge 10,000 baht for that.

Did you have a discount or did they have a promotion? Very low fee for BPH.

I went to the hospital in mid-December and they were offering many discounts for various health check-up packages but I didn't see any for ENT. When I paid the bill I didn't see any discount mentioned so I assume what I paid is the regular price.

if he has an allergy Would he not be better finding someone who will do blood tests to find out what he is allergic to or has he had those tests?

She's has those done at both Ao Udom and Queen Sirikit, and the doctors at both hospitals were none the wiser afterwards as to what causes the allergic reaction. All they can do it seems is prescribe antihistamines which make her very drowsy and unable to do anything.

The throat, sight and hearing problems started at the same time as the allergy, so it all seems related, but I realise that this is probably a complicated case, which is why I would really like to find someone with a Western rather than a Thai attitude to diagnosis and treatment.

I'd be willing to go to Bumrungrad, but if it was to require multiple or regular visits (which I suspect it will), then it might start getting expensive with transport and accommodation costs. That's why a local private hospital would be my first choice. But I don't really want to pay thousands of Baht in BPH here if all they are going to do is the same as has already been done and dose her up on yet more antihistamines.

I have seen this Dr. at Bumringrad and he is very good. His education are top top shelf and he is easy to talk to and very professional. I live in Pattaya but dont find the local Dr.s here on a par with what is available at the better hospitals in BKK and its only 2 hrs away and pricing is the same as any of the local private hospitals.

Thanks. That sounds like what I am looking for. The Fellowships in the USA are usually a pretty good indicator.
