Found Golden Retriever, Bangkok Sammakorn Thailand

Featured Replies

Golden Retriever, Lost & Found Dog, Mooban Summakorn / Sammakorn, Bangkok, Thailand, Ramkhamheng 112

Since 16.12. a Golden Retriever has made his home at my place in Mooban Sammakorn.

Approx. 2 years old, very well behaved & trained and loves to jump in every puddle / water he comes across (hence the 'dirty' look on the attached photos after 'cleaning' out my better half's water-plants basin... :whistling: )

The vets in and around Summakorn could not find a chip or any other identification marks, nor did they come across this dog before.

I walked or better say let the dog run around extensively across Summakorn in the hope he would find back his way home again, but no luck so far.

Keeping and loving (much smaller  ) dogs myself since 12 years, surely someone must be missing this lovely dog and searching like crazy for him ?

Don't know what else to do or where else to post it effectively - any suggestions are highly welcome.

Kind regards

Frank

WOW. I'm sure someone is missing him very much. This is sad unless the owners lost him in that area but live far away. I am a dog lover and had a golden here up until last year when I had to give him away due to moving into an apartment in the city and I miss him more then anything. I will also try to advertise on other sites and PM you if I have any luck.

All I know of is Tony's in Pattaya that takes dogs in but it's not a very nice place for a dog to be. Hold on to him and we will keep trying. Good hearted post mate.

I'm not sure if we are allowed to advertise other websites but if not the mods can edit this for me but I think that www.craigslist.co.th has a lost and found place and also has a "pets" post.

I just posted an ad on craigslist but would be nice to have the pictures of the dig you have. they did not appear in your OP. Also I have given my phone number as a contact so if you want I can also edit the ad and put yours on which would be better?

Ok I just found your pics and will post them on the ad. Pm me with your number if you want

What a beautiful boy. Have you tried advertising on bangkok.angloinfo.com? You could try these two pages:

http://bangkok.angloinfo.com/forum/forum.asp?FID=1008 (Classifieds: Giveaways) or

http://bangkok.angloinfo.com/forum/forum.asp?FID=1009 (Pets & animals)

I have used these forums in the past for rehoming animals I have found. I would take him but I am living in a condo at the moment - that said, I am hoping to find a house rather than a condo when my lease expires in April, so if he still needs a home by then I'd be happy to take him :-) I live on Soi Sammakorn 2, just behind Wat Samian Naree - probably not a million miles away from you.

Best of luck! And please let me know if I can help.

Looks like I posted to soon and the dog has found his way back home after all :)

Monday late afternoon he went out and didn't come back since.

I kept the gate open during the day so he could come and go freely.

During the 5 days he barely ventured outside alone, usually he just went over to the open meadows around the lake to do his "business" and check out some of the other dogs.

Towards the evening he very cutely made you aware that it's time for his long round and didn't stop until I followed him outside.

He loved to run but never ventured too far away, coming back every so often demanding a little caress and off running again.

Never came across such a well trained and well behaved dog, I really would like to meet his owner to learn a thing or two about training dogs.

Guess he all that's left to do for me is to re-plant my better half's little garden pool...kind of miss him now :(

Thanks for your suggestions and comments, much appreciated - good folks in this forum.

Look who is back...

For those who might still have some interest in the 'fate' of this Golden Retriever, a short update:

The Dog seems to belong to someone in the area around my place.

He keeps coming back every other week or so and if the gate is open, he lets himself in for a bath (pic from this morning).

He stays around a few hours or over night and disappears again the next day.

He is well fed and cared for, so looks like he only enjoys the occasional 'boys night out' and for whatever reason my place has become (one of ?) his "weekend-getaways".
